Knowing When To Step Away

Social media is overwhelming at times and there is a point when  you need to just separate yourself from it. It’s been a couple of weeks from my last post and while I love blogging, I needed a bit of a break. I finished my writer’s workshop course this past Tuesday and passed with an A-. There’s something that bothers me greatly about that minus but hey, I’ll take it! 🙂

The rest of the week was downtime from my schoolwork and also from my next fitness challenge so I took the time to completely step away from posting. I focused on “me time” by taking it easy with yoga, get chores done that often get pushed to the side when there’s homework needed to be done, catch up on my current read, and continue my run along with thousands of other writers in Camp NaNo.

Taking the time to catch up on other things that are happening in your life is important and if getting away from social media is what you need to do, well, do it!

I’m happy to say that I’m a little over twelve thousand words into my twenty thousand goal. I’ve also started my second round of 21 day fix extreme with my fitness group and I feel absolutely refreshed and ready after taking this past week off.

So, take some YOU TIME!

I’m currently taking a media/publishing course which I’m looking forward to because I have a few short stories that are ready for publishing and this course will surely help guide me in the right direction of getting that started.

To all my writers, if you have anything published, what pointers do you have for me in publishing a YA short to perhaps a journal?

Thanks!!
